I’m Will.

I was trained as a cook, farmer, & scientist in Berkeley, CA.

I fell in love with soil science when I was 19, and as I built relationships with farmers and ranchers through my research, I started feeding my friends and family with the produce they were growing. I immediately saw that the food I was cooking tied my community to their local growers & landscapes.

Enamored with this idea, I went straight to the birthplace of the local food movement, and began my training in the kitchen of Chez Panisse. My mind was completely blown by the power of delicious food, sustainable agriculture, and intentional eating during my time cooking with chefs at the restaurant.

Building community around the dinner table is magic, and I haven’t stopped chasing that magic since my first days in the kitchen.
